Only 3 weeks ago we still had 16 teams unbeaten in the season, now only 3. It is beginning to look like 3 loss teams will be filling the playoff spots……but who? The only sure bet is there will be many more upsets during the last quarter of the season. I had another slow start with these Group Of 6 conference games in mid-week, but recovered well again on Saturday. I went 2-3 on leans for a year’s total of 19-20-2. The plays came in at 3 and 3 including 3-1 on Saturday bringing the total for the season to 25-18-2. Strictly for entertainment purposes only, let’s get to this week’s games.
Tonight’s 2 CUSA games has very little information to consider. Delaware is at Western Kentucky and a 2 point dog. The Blue Hens are 0-11 straight up and against the spread as a road dog including 0-3 this year. I am going to hold my nose and lean The Hilltoppers -2. I have zero stats or trends to share on the Sam Houston State traveling to Missouri State.
Wednesday night brings us 2 more CUSA tilts with Kennesaw State heading to Middle Tennessee State. The home standing Blue Raiders are favored by -2 1/2. They are also only 2-7 against the spread as a single digit favorite. Still I am going to pass. The other game has Jax State heading out west to face New Mexico State as a -3 point favorite. I have conflicting stats on this game, although limited. The home team is 2 and 0 straight up and against the spread in this series. Jax State is 13-6-1 as a conference favorite including 1-1-1 this year. Guess I am not playing anything on Wednesday night.
Thursday night’s games are a Sunbelt contest and an American Conference game. I have nothing on the Sunbelt Troy going to Liberty. Liberty is favored by -21 points and are coming off a loss and may well cover, but I can’t lay that many points. The American game also has a healthy line with the home team; North Texas favored by -13 1/2 over Florida Atlantic. FAU is 0-4 straight up and against the spread their last 4 trips here. The home team is 6-2 straight up and 7-1 against the spread. That is enough for me to lean laying the large line. I lean North Texas -13 1/2.
